Why nominate?
The health of a local church rises or falls with the Christ-like quality of its leadership. This is why the Apostle Paul reminds his disciples, Timothy and Titus, of the high standard of character that needs to be evident in the lives of those to whom they delegate leadership authority. Paul wanted them to know that leadership in Christ's church is rightfully earned only after someone has grown in grace and has a time-proven track record of faithfulness.
