2026 - 2027

Why We Serve

Serving the church is a tangible way to live out our love for Christ and His people. God has gifted each of us for the good of the body, and when we serve, we reflect the heart of Jesus—who came not to be served, but to serve.

Through service, we steward those gifts, live out the "one another" commands of Scripture (Romans 12:10, Hebrews 10:24–25), and grow together in faith.

We ask that each member sign up to serve at least once a month on a Sunday Gathering serve team.

  • Yes! We are asking every member to complete the Serve Team Commitment form if:

    • You would like to continue serving on your current team

    • You would like to transition to a different team

    • You would like to begin serving for the first time

  • As a church, we expect each of our members to serve on one of our Sunday Gathering teams at least once per month as part of our shared corporate worship rhythm.

We also offer additional serving opportunities outside of Sunday Gatherings that are important to the health of our church. We encourage you to participate as time and capacity allow.

  • We expect all members to serve on a Sunday Gathering team at least once per month.

Members who have the capacity and desire may also serve in additional ministry areas.

We recognize that some members are unable to serve on Sundays due to work schedules, family responsibilities, or other commitments.

In those cases, members may indicate interest in one of the following opportunities under the “Additional Serve Opportunities” section of the form.

  • We believe serving is an important expression of discipleship and church membership. Therefore, all serve team volunteers are required to be members of Christ Covenant

This expectation is not intended to be restrictive. Rather, it reflects our conviction that service in the church should flow from covenant membership, where believers are known, shepherded, and accountable within the local body.

If you are not currently a member and would like to learn more about the membership process, please contact Madison Lockrem at madison@christcovenant.com.

  • Absolutely. We greatly value the leadership and service of our elders, deacons, and committee members. These roles are significant forms of service within the church.

If your capacity allows, we would also love for you to consider serving on a Sunday Gathering team once per month as an additional way to support the life of the church.
