Why We Serve

As members of Christ’s body, we’re called not just to attend church but to be the church. God has gifted each of us for the good of others—and when we serve, we reflect the heart of Jesus, who came not to be served but to serve.

Serving builds up the church, strengthens our witness, and creates space for others to grow in Christ. Every role matters. So ask yourself: How has God gifted you, and how can you use that to serve His people?

Let’s commit to serving faithfully, for the glory of God and the good of His church.

Frequently Asked Questions

Still have questions? Take a look at the FAQ or reach out to our Serve the Church Coordinator, Ashley Goodrich, for more information.

  • We ask that every member serve on a Sunday serve team at least once a month.

  • While you are welcome to serve on up to two Sunday serve teams, we encourage members to consider their capacity prior to making an additional team commitment. If you have questions about serving on an additional Sunday team, let us know and we would be happy to help.

  • Our desire is that our serve teams are rooted in discipleship. As we mature as disciples, we hope that maturation will lead to further discipleship of others . At Christ Covenant, church membership is a central part of our discipleship process. Before performing one of the core rhythms of membership, we desire that non-members who would like to serve first enter into covenant with our church family. We understand that there may be unique situations, and exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis.
