SERVE THE CHURCH

As members of Christ’s body, we’re called not just to attend church but to be the church. God has gifted each of us for the good of others—and when we serve, we reflect the heart of Jesus, who came not to be served but to serve.

Serving builds up the church, strengthens our witness, and creates space for others to grow in Christ. Every role matters. So ask yourself: How has God gifted you, and how can you use that to serve His people?

Let’s commit to serving faithfully, for the glory of God and the good of His church.

SUNDAY SERVE TEAM AREAS

COVENANT KIDS

The Covenant Kids Team sows and nurtures gospel seeds in the hearts of kids, ages birth to 5th grade. Whether you are praying over infants or investing in elementary-aged students, volunteers simply need to be caring mentors who are willing to build relationships, open God’s Word, and facilitate games and activities that help kids experience the truth of the text and the love of Jesus.

FACILITIES

The Facilities Team is committed to ensuring a safe, welcoming, and well-functioning environment across all church campuses and buildings. This team is made up of a parking team and safety team. Our parking team directs traffic flow and manages parking each Sunday, as well as during large gatherings. Those who join our safety team ensure the safety of our church, from babies and children in the Kids area to the corners of our campuses.

HOSPITALITY

The Hospitality Team exists to create a warm and welcoming environment for all who enter our buildings. Hospitality is composed of our Connect Team, Lounge Team, and Reset Team. From preparing and serving coffee in the lounge, to resetting shared spaces and engaging with members and visitors as they arrive and before they leave, the Hospitality Team demonstrates love and care to our church family and guests.

STUDENT LEADERS

The Student Leaders Team partners with parents to disciple students in 6th through 12th grade, investing in the next generation with an eternal perspective. Through supporting weekly Student Gatherings and leading small groups, leaders help shape hearts and minds to follow Jesus for a lifetime—and into eternity.

COLLEGE LEADERS

The College Leaders Team disciples college students and helps reach campuses across Atlanta. Leaders support the weekly college gathering, serve on campus-specific teams (Oglethorpe, Emory, Georgia Tech, and Georgia State), lead small groups, mentor group leaders, offer rides to church, lead worship, and serve at events and retreats—all to help students know and follow Jesus during a pivotal season of life.

WORSHIP

The Worship Team, composed of our Music Team, Production Team, and Stream Team, exists to lead our congregation in worship through both musical and visual elements. This team includes vocalists, instrumentalists, production assistants, and camera operators who work together to create a space where our church can faithfully worship the living God each week. We require an audition for vocalist and instrumentalist roles.

NON-SUNDAY SERVE TEAMS

YOUNG ADULTS

Young adults from across the city gather every Tuesday night for biblical worship, gospel-centered teaching, and Christ-centered community. We believe every volunteer is both a minister of the gospel and a leader within the Tuesday night gathering—whether you’re helping serve dinner, floating around and connecting with first-timers, or directing traffic. Before serving with CCYA, each volunteer needs to complete five weeks of evangelism and discipleship training.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT MINISTRY

The International Student Ministry (ISM) reaches and disciples international students through relationships, Bible study, and hospitality. ISM Leaders help plan monthly events, lead discussion groups at EMBARK (our weekly on-campus Bible study), offer airport pickups, and invite students into their lives to share the love of Christ.

WOMEN’S GOSPEL FELLOWSHIP

Women’s Gospel Fellowship (WGF) is a Bible study for women that meets weekly during the fall and spring semesters at both campuses. A dedicated team of women serves in various roles to help the ministry run smoothly—whether through preparing refreshments, hosting, cleaning up, providing tech support, praying, or facilitating discussion. Some roles will require an interview.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Our photography team takes photos for Sunday worship services as well as special events or off-site gatherings. This serve team does not require editing, but merely requires capturing the event. This is not a regularly scheduled rotation, but rather on an as-needed basis.

PARTNER CARE TEAM

One important way the church is called to engage in missions is to care for those who are sent out for the sake of the name (3 John 5-8). Our Partner Care Team at Christ Covenant focuses on praying and caring for our Reach the World and Bless the City partners as we strive to be faithful senders and goers.

WEEKDAY HELPERS

Covenant Kids runs each Sunday thanks to weekday volunteers who prep behind the scenes. Weekday Helpers give at least one hour a month to prepare crafts, organize supplies, decorate classrooms, and prepare materials—helping create a space where kids can learn to love and follow Jesus.

SPECIAL EVENTS

The Special Events team supports church-wide and special ministry events through planning, setting up, decorating, serving refreshments, and cleaning up events.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the dates for STC 2025?

The emphasis runs from June 8th through July 13th, and new commitments begin August 10, 2025, and run through August 2nd, 2026.

Do I have to re-sign up for a serve team I am already serving on?

Yes! We are asking every member to fill out the commitment form if: you would like to continue serving on your current serve team, you would like to serve on a different team, or if you would like to start serving.

How many times am I expected to serve each month? How many teams can I serve on?

We are asking that every member serve on a Sunday serve team  at least once a month!

While you are welcome to serve on up to two Sunday serve teams, we encourage members to consider their capacity prior to making an additional team commitment. If you have questions about serving on an additional Sunday team, let us know and we would be happy to help.

Do I have to be a member to serve?

Our desire is that our serve teams are rooted in discipleship. As we mature as disciples, we hope that maturation will lead to further discipleship of others . At Christ Covenant, church membership is a central part of our discipleship process. Before performing one of the core rhythms of membership, we desire that non-members who would like to serve first enter into covenant with our church family. We understand that there may be unique situations, and exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis.

I am an Elder/Deacon/Group Leader. Does that count as a serve position?

We greatly value the leadership of our elders, deacons, and group leaders as vital forms of service within the church. That said, we’d love to invite these leaders to consider serving once per month on a Sunday as well.
